Additional Integrity Activities

Draw and Decide
Students pass a bucket around until the teacher says to freeze. The student holding the bucket then draws a card, reads the card, and decides if it shows integrity or not. Students in the class can challenge the decision and give their own explanation. Teachers put behaviors or scenarios on the cards.

Here are a few teachers can start with:
Lying
Stealing
Cheating
Following the rules
Covering for a friend
Helping a friend
Laughing when someone falls
Littering
Bullying
Coming home on time

What Do You Think?
The integrity test is from the movie Courageous (2011) this clip from the movie  depicts a boss asking his worker to compromise what he knows is right to get a promotion. The short clip is a great discussion starter or writing prompt for middle or high school students. Teachers can ask students to work in groups to create possible scenarios that would test someone’s integrity. Students can then create video scripts of their own and film the scenarios with an iPad or smart phone.
